BACKGROUND OF BLSO: The Biyar Local Support Organization (BLSO) is a progressive indigenous civil society organization representing 260 different grassroots village based development; social and cultural organizations in northern part of district Chitral. It is registered under companies' act 1984 with government of Pakistan.
So far, the progress of BLSO in terms of representation of gross root communities, organizational growth, resource mobilization and service delivery has been encouraging. Some major achievement in this regards are: 98% household coverage, revitalization and strengthening of 260 VW/CSOs, recruitment of management staff and establishment of central office. public private partnership project ,Health facility,  non  formal schools with NCHD ), establishment of Early Childhood Development Centre, provision of micro credit to poor families, provision of books and computers to three community based girls schools,  Facilitation of AKRSP MHP 20 Kw of Singandeh Awi,MHP 20 Kw Mandagh Awi , 15 Kw MHP Booni Gole ,Facilitation of PEDO(MHP Booni Gole 100 KW,200 Kw Reshun MHP,100 Kw Awi MHP and 50 KW MHP Meragram No 1)Facilitation of Community 100 MHP Charvelandeh Booni .micro investment plan survey in the area, skill development of  community members and establishment of multi stake development forum, NRM project, rangeland management project , youth development activities, infrastructure  development projects, and  successful completion of IWPR (Open mind Pakistan Project),

 Formation and strengthening of Women Organizations, Village Organizations and Other Civil Society    Organizations
          To reduce poverty and let the foundation of People centered sustainable development of Biyar area.
          To empower the women economically, socially and politically
          Better utilization and conservation of natural resources
          Capacity building of area people
          Pave the way for public private partnership to undertake development initiatives.
            Technical Support and information service to entrepreneurs and investors.

MAJOR INTERVENTIONS:

  • Community Mobilization:

One of the main objectives behind the creation of Biyar Local Support Organization was to continue the social mobilization and management of existing village based organizations (Village, Women and other Civil Society Organizations). It was continues struggle of the social mobilizers of BLSO that all the active V/Wos and CSOs become part of BLSO. Up to date, the number of registered organization with BLSO is 260.
BLSO is working on social mobilization in formation of VWOs in uncovered areas and strengthen existing VWOs and reactivation of dormant organization.
